Faeries Dust

Faeries Dust is a tone poem and moving description the Kingdom under the spell of the hundred-year sleep. It conveys a feeling of isolation, solitude and unhappiness. One can only imagine the magnitude of this incredible spell. The fairies spread their magical dust to make certain the King and Queen never find out what has happened to their daughter, Princess Aurora.

The opening theme begins on a single repeated note in a variety of rhythms with an unexpected harmony that accompanies this lonely sound. As the piece moves forward, one can sense the stillness of the once-great kingdom. In many colors and overlapping cluster chords, there is a colorless shift of mood followed by bells, seeming to toll without purpose. Yet in a gentle manner, there is coldness in the air, a dark death has come to all. The only sound one hears is the sad far cry of the frightening birds.
