Ms. Comune is a master teacher who coaches and prepares students for competitions and festivals. Ms. Comune is currently on the Faculty at Westminster Conservatory- Honors Music Program as a Chamber and Piano Performance Coach, Collaborator and Private Piano, and Charleston Academy of Music - Private Piano, Performance Coach and Composition. Ms. Comune has maintained active private studios since 1973 in Boston, MA,; Palm Beach County, FL and the Lehigh Valley, PA. Ms. Comune is also an Accompanist for the Vocal Department at Charleston Southern University. She served as a former faculty in piano, collaborator and chamber with New England Conservatory of Music Prep School; Berklee College of Music; Palm Beach Atlantic College and Lynn Conservatory of Music in Palm Beach.

She is a member of MTNA for over 30 year: NJ, PA, NEPTA; BMI and a Steinway Artist. She is the recipient of The Steinway Top Teacher Award, 2016 and 2017. Since capturing her attention at age three, Carol Comune continues to be mesmerized by thepiano’s sounds, touch. and the ability to express one’s sentiments, passions and love all in one instrument. This early affinity for music led to a scholarship for piano and solfege with alumnus of the Paris Conservatoire, Mme. Yvonne Combe at the French School of Music in Plainfield, New Jersey. She is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, MA (BM in Piano Performance with David Hagan). She continued graduate studies in Piano Pedagogy with Jean Stackhouse (NEC); Composition with John Felice (NEC); and influential mentors Donald Waxman; the late concert pianist, Anthony di Bonaventura, a master teacher of international stature; and celebrated Russian teacher Madame Isabelle Vengerova. Master classes with Russell Sherman, Randall Hodgkinson, Ursula Oppens, and Miklos Schwab.

Ms. Comune’s students are recipients for outstanding achievements for the following Music Organizations: in NJ and PA: 1st Place and 2nd place winners-Weill Hall/Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall/ Kaufmann Center - NYC, NY Achievement Awards; Piano Teachers Forum Festival; Music-fest; Golden Key Music Festival;Music Educators Association; Guild; New Jersey Music Teachers Association; Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music; The Royal Conservatory Achievement Program and Summer Music Camp Scholarship: Solo Pianists at Westminster Conservatory Princeton, NJ. I have dedicated my life to music and I am committed to making a difference by enriching my student’s lives using outstanding pedagogical skills. I have taught, coached, and accompanied hundreds of students, many of whom have been recipients of achievement awards, winners of competitions for performance, and placement in gifted schools and conservatories of music. I have served as an adjudicator in numerous competitions for piano performance and composition. My studio is designed and concerned with students’ overall development as well as their musicianship.

  Richard performed Rachmaninov’s                           Piano Concerto No. 3-Finale  He has been my student at Westminster Conservatory of Music for 9 years!  I am so proud of his accomplishments from Carnegie Hall to Showcase Performances.   Congratulations to my fearless student .  It’s been an honor to teach Richard and what a wonderful gift to complete your senior year.  Thank you for always reminding me why I love to teach piano especially to passionate students.
